Capcom Singapore has announced an official collaboration with Mapúa University, one of the Philippines’ leading institutions in engineering and technology, and Prime Manpower, a global leader in workforce and education solutions. The three organizations will work together to develop an innovative educational program themed around ‘Games, Intellectual Property & Digital Culture.’
This partnership aims to leverage Capcom’s expertise in game business and intellectual property (IP) education cultivated in Japan to create an international model for talent development, starting in the Philippines and extending across the ASEAN region. The initiative will launch with a signing ceremony on 26 January 2026, followed by a special lecture on 27 January. Through classes, project-based learning (PBL), and internships, the program will nurture creators, engineers, and business professionals for the global gaming industry, while also promoting the study of intellectual property.
The three organizations will leverage their respective strengths to jointly design and implement practical programs that connect education, industry, and career pathways.

Ricky Bian Li, Managing Director of Capcom Singapore Pte. Ltd., emphasized the significance of the collaboration:
“Capcom has long delivered smiles and excitement to players around the world through our games. Behind this lies a continuous and sophisticated creative process — one that involves generating characters, worlds, game systems, brands, and the intellectual property that underpins them, then refining these elements into valuable assets and integrating them into our business.
In recent years, the gaming industry in Southeast Asia has grown rapidly, and in the Philippines in particular, interest in gaming and digital creativity has risen dramatically among younger generations. Against this backdrop, our educational collaboration with Mapúa University represents a highly significant initiative that contributes to nurturing creative talent in the region.
We are delighted to work with Mapúa University and Prime Manpower to share practical insights into the game business and intellectual property with students. Through this collaboration, we hope students will gain first-hand understanding of how creativity, technology, IP, and business come together to create value in game content — and apply these learnings to their future careers.
Capcom will continue to strengthen its relationship with Southeast Asia and contribute to the growth of the regional gaming community and talent development. We look forward to working with educational institutions across Southeast Asia to cultivate the next generation of creators and enrich the region’s entertainment culture.”
Echoing this, Dr. Dodjie S. Maestrecampo, President and CEO of Mapúa University, stated, “Mapúa University is deeply committed to preparing students for global careers through strong industry-aligned curricula, project-based learning, and real-world training. Our programs integrate technical skills with professional readiness, enabling students to thrive in fast-evolving digital and creative fields. We are pleased to collaborate with Capcom, a world-leading game company, and Prime Manpower, a global expert in talent development. This partnership enhances our career-readiness efforts by giving students access to industry practitioners, international best practices, and hands-on learning rooted in game business and intellectual property (IP). The game industry brings together engineering, design, business, and IP. Through this collaboration—and supported by Mapúa’s robust internship pathways and career services—our students will sharpen cross-disciplinary skills and gain exposure to global standards, helping them pursue impactful careers in the creative and digital sectors.”
Meanwhile, the representative from Prime Manpower also highlighted, "Prime Manpower is committed to connecting people with meaningful work opportunities and maximizing their potential worldwide. This initiative is a unique collaboration that unites academia, industry, and employment—bringing together Mapúa University and Capcom to create a seamless pathway from learning to employment. In the rapidly evolving digital industry, understanding games and intellectual property is increasingly essential not only for creators and engineers but also for business professionals. Through this partnership, we aim to support emerging global talent from the Philippines and help them succeed in the global game and digital sectors."
These statements highlight the shared vision of Capcom Singapore, Mapúa University, and Prime Manpower: to equip students with practical skills at the intersection of creativity, technology, and business.
By combining expertise in game development, intellectual property, and workforce education, the program empowers students to transform their skills into real-world opportunities, shaping the future of the gaming and digital industries in Southeast Asia and beyond.
